Kindergarten and Bridge

The Evangel kindergarten classroom provides a secure and encouraging environment where children can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We celebrate each child’s unique gifts as we faithfully shepherd their hearts toward the good, true, and beautiful. 

Kindergarten is a special year at Evangel. Marked by numerous special traditions and beloved events, Kindergarten promotes a love for learning, a love for school, and mostly, a love for the Lord. Evangel kindergarten students learn over 50 Bible verses throughout the school year, which serves a dual purpose of hiding God’s word in their hearts while also cultivating the memorization skills that will be required to thrive in the grammar stage of the Elementary school. 

A Kindergarten Bridge program was added in the fall of 2024. This class is specifically designed for students who may benefit from the “gift of time” to allow them an extra year to continue to mature academically and socially. Upon completion of their Kindergarten Bridge year, some students will continue on to Kindergarten and some will move on to 1st grade. Our Bridge class strikes a balance between the hands-on center based learning of Pre-K and the more academically challenging structure of Kindergarten. Teacher recommendations help parents determine if the Bridge program is a good fit for their children. 

Options for three or five day programs for both the Kindergarten and the Bridge classes allows families to choose a path that will best serve their children. Both programs allow for individualized attention through one-on-one time with teachers and small group opportunities based on academic needs. Age-appropriate time management skills promote independence and prepare students for a successful 1st grade year. 

Our Evangel Kindergarten and Bridge programs are nurturing experiences marked by personalized instruction, habit formation, and character development. Fostering a love for learning and training the affections toward the things of the Lord serves our students as they move through the Elementary grammar stage. 

Kindergarten & Bridge Frequently Asked Questions

Kindergarten and Bridge families may choose between three-day or five-day programs. Drop-off is between 8:15am and 8:25am and pick-up is between 2:50pm and 3:00pm.

Our classical christian curriculum pulls from a variety of trusted resources including Logic of English, Well Ordered Language, Story of the World, and Purposeful Design. A full curriculum list will be made available when you tour our campus.

Our Kindergarten Bridge class is a great option for students who have turned five, but would benefit from an additional year of preparation for Kindergarten. Student assessments and teacher recommendations help determine if students are a good fit for the Bridge program. Upon completion of their Kindergarten Bridge year, some students will continue on to Kindergarten and some will move on to 1st grade.

We do not have uniform requirements, but we do have a dress code. You can access that information HERE.

For families who need help with transportation, we offer limited shuttle services.

Parents are not required to volunteer, but they are called upon often throughout the year to help out in various ways. Parents can choose to be highly involved if their schedule allows.

We take security very seriously, and we regularly consult with experts in the field to make sure our security protocols are properly up-to-date. In order to keep our campus safe, specific security information is shared with families upon admission.

The admissions process begins with filling out our inquiry form. From there, our admissions coordinator will reach out to schedule a personalized tour. Older elementary and secondary students are given the option to schedule a shadow day where they can sit in on classes and meet other students. When those steps are complete, parents will begin the application process, which will include student assessments and parent interviews.
